The EK RC Flyers have been flying radio controlled aircraft since the 1980's. Our members can be found on a regular basis at our MAAC sanctioned field just oustide of Cranbrook. We fly planes, gliders, helicopters & drones of all types and sizes.

Club Membership

Our club always welcomes new members, both experienced and just starting out. If you are interested in the hobby we can provide advice on selecting your first aircraft, guidance on navigating the requirements for the sport, and most importantly training to get you in the air safely and flying on your own as soon as possible.

Our annual club membership is $30.00, payable by Interac e-Transfer.

Club Member MAAC Requirements

To be properly covered by MAAC insurance, all MAAC members must adhere to the following:
 
Have a current MAAC membership.
Follow the MAAC safety rules.
Fly at a MAAC sanctioned field.
Have a basic RPAS certificate.
Have a flight log book for each plane and transmitter.
Have all planes registered and marked with the registration number.

Rampart MAAC Field

Drive approximately 10 km East of Cranbrook towards Fernie on highway 3.
Drive aproximately 300 metres past the rest stop on the right, then turn right on the dirt road.
Drive approximately 100 metres to the yellow gate on the left.
If unlocked pass through. If locked, no entry.
Always return the gate and chain to the position that it was in.
Drive in a South direction on the dirt road approximately 300 metres to the unmarked field.

Old Kimberley Airport Field

This field is not currently MAAC sanctioned.

Drive approximately 20 km East of Kimberley towards Wasa on highway 95A.
Turn right on the dirt road at the intersection of Lost Dog forest service road and 95A.
Drive in a South direction on the dirt road approximately 300 metres to the unmarked field.
